Ted's Charcoal Broiled Hot Dogs

I'm not very adventurous, so was a little leery of going to a hot dog shop for lunch. But at the advice of a friend, we tried it and boy was I thrilled we did. It's a regular on our eating out list. They now even take credit cards, which is much more convenient than the cash only service they had previously. Fun to watch them grill your hot dogs, hamburgers, etc. and the food is wonderful. Onion rings are superb. Price is a little more than you'd expect for a hot dog, but definitely worth it.

Get there early as the line gets long quickly. Grilled hot dogs and burgers. Easy to get to. Lots of Chicago memorabilia.

Buffalo ny style, what???? lies,go to teds on seneca in buffalo, this is nothing what this place has, this is yucky

Ted's popularity pretty much guarantees that you will have to wait in line, sometimes a very long line, to order and get your food. They feature Western New York dogs, and do a pretty good job with a menu that includes burgers and sandwiches. Some people rave about the dogs, although I would have to say that they seem to be pretty generic. There always seems to be a line, and mass confusion at the cash register area. If you don't mind waiting a while, you can get a decent dog at a decent price (but no beer to wash it down with).

The food at this place is great. They have great hot dogs and great hamburgers. They are grilled in front of you on an open flame. It is a bit pricey. It is not a real modern establishment though. When I asked the help if they had a Wi Fi there they did not even know what I was talking about. They accept only cash. I think they are really missing out on the business they could have if they took credit cards and ATM. All in all not a bad place though.

Go to Ted's! It is a little pricey but if you want a dog like you got in Old Chicago this is the place to go! Awesome burgers, too. Never cooked until you order, then it's done right in front of you. The portions of fries and onion rings are very generous. One order is enough for two. One thing that does bite is the cash only policy..remember to bring cash!..Oh and the only reason I voted "Above Average" service is because of the guy behind the grill. He rocks!!!

It seems Ted's is listed twice so I'll review it again. The food is good here, but it's definitely overpriced. Give it a try and decide for yourself if it's worth it.

Ted's is a landmark in Tempe. Not much to look at inside, but you can't beat the hot dogs, which are cooked in front of you over an open flame. It feels like you just travelled to Chicago for dinner.
