Very disappointed / lost equipment
Brought my laptop in for a new hard drive. On the work order they don't note the make, model, serial no., etc. of the equip! They say there's no need b/c they're small and never lose equip. and instead put stickers on the equip w/ your last name.(I should have walked out at this point.) They had me sign paperwork, but wouldn't give me copies. They'll give you blanks, but no copies w/your signature. I asked them to make copies on their copy machine, but they claimed not to have one. (Did I walk out? No. Stupid me.) It cost me $300 to have a $100 hard drive installed. When I p/u'd my laptop they tried to give me back a diff. and inferior power cord. The sticker on it had my last name on it so they said it *had* to be mine. I wouldn't go for it. They ordered a new cord, but it didn't look new and it wasn't the model that I originally left with them. When I went to p/u the 2nd time, someone admitted that the 1st cord they tried to give me was wrong for my machine!! I make a stink about the cord, b/c they cost about $100 new! My opinion: they remove good parts from equip and install/return inferior parts. They installed remote access software w/o my permission so they could access my machine in theory to troubleshoot (w/ or w/o my knowledge). They added a password-protected admin user w/full access that I couldn't delete. There were also some weird registry entries. I ended up reformating the hard drive. What a waste of time, energy and money. Never again.
